The Geoffrey’s Comics Return Policy

General
  • Most unopened items sold by Geoffrey’s Comics in new condition and returned within 60 days will receive a refund or exchange.
  • Some items sold by Geoffrey’s Comics have a modified return policy noted on the receipt, packing slip, Geoffrey’s Comics policy board (refund exceptions), GeoffreysComics.com or in the item description.
  • Products which may not be returned or exchanged include Back Issue, Vintage, and Magic singles.
    New Comics may only be exchanged within 7 days of purchase.
  • Items that are opened, damaged or do not have a receipt may be denied a refund or exchange.
Exchanges
  • Geoffrey’s Comics will replace items that are defective or damaged for the same item if available. Otherwise, a return and refund may be issued.
Payment method
  • In most cases the refund will automatically go back to the original form of payment used for the purchase.
  • If multiple forms of payment are used, the refund may go back to all payment methods used.
  • For refunds started online, if the transaction originally used PayPal or a Geoffrey’s Comics gift card to make the purchase, the refund may be provided on a new Geoffrey’s Comics gift card.
  • If the credit or debit card on which the refund is supposed to go back has been lost or stolen, contact the card issuer for refund information.
Different refund options

For returns made in store, customers may request a different refund option based on the original purchase method:

Original purchase: Refund options

  • Cash: Cash, Geoffrey’s Comics Gift Card, Store Credit
  • Check: Gift card will be used for checks that haven’t cleared. Cash if return is made 7 days after date of purchase.
  • Debit Card: Credit to debit card
  • PayPal: Cash issued for in-store returns. Geoffrey’s Comics eGiftCard issued for mail-in returns.
  • Geoffrey’s Comics Gift Card: Geoffrey’s Comics Gift Card, Cash (less than $10)
  • Credit Cards – American Express®, Visa®, Mastercard®, Discover®: Credit to third-party credit card, Geoffrey’s Comics Gift Card
  • American Express®, Visa®, Mastercard®, Discover® Gift Card:  Reloaded onto gift card, Cash, Geoffrey’s Comics Gift Card
Credit card refund timing
  • Refunds to a third-party credit card typically take up to 5 days after the refund is approved.
  • For information about refunds to a third-party credit card, contact the card issuer.
Sale and BOGO Items
  • When purchasing items as part of a Buy X, Get Y (BOGO, etc.) promotion, the promotional discount is based on the lowest priced item, then applied to each item proportionately.
  • If any of the items are returned, the refund will be reduced to the discounted amount for each item.
  • Example 1 – Buy One, Get One Free:
    If the first qualifying item is $60 and the second qualifying item is $40, a $40 discount is applied.
    If either item is returned, the return value of that item is equal to the original purchase price reduced by its prorated discount.
    A $40 discount on a $100 purchase means:
    The $60 item is discounted by $24 (60%) and the $40 item is discounted by $16 (40%).
    The $60 item may be returned for $36 and the $40 item may be returned for $24.
  • Example 2 – Buy One, Get One 50% Off:
    If the first qualifying item is $60 and the second qualifying item is $40, a $20 discount is applied.
    If either item is returned, the return value of that item is equal to the original purchase price reduced by its prorated discount.
    A $20 discount on a $100 purchase means:
    The $60 item will be discounted by $12 (60%) and the $40 item will be discounted by $8 (40%).
    The $60 item may be returned for $48 and the $40 item may be returned for $32.
Receipts and proof of purchase
  • Receipts can be accessed from the Geoffrey’s Comics Square Loyalty account for in-store purchases (if paid in-store with a card associated to the Geoffrey’s Rewards account).
  • The item and the method of payment used must be brought to a retail location within the return window allowed for that item.
  • If proof of purchase is not available, a refund may be issued in the form of a Geoffrey’s Comics merchandise return card.
Online refunds
  • For online purchases, please communicate directly via the delivery and shipping confirmation emails for the order.
  • Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email or in-app message to notify you that we have received your returned item.
  • We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
  • If you are approved, then your refund will be processed within 1-2 business days.
  • If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account, then contact your credit card company as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. 
Returning a gift purchased online
  • If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a claim for the return.
  • Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate (or gift code) will be issued to you.
  • If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift-giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift-giver and they will find out about your return.
Shipping a return
  • For online purchases, please refer to delivery and shipping confirmation emails for the order.
  • You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
  • Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
  • If you are returning more expensive items, please consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
